The Adoption Process

At Help a Stray Cat, our mission is to rescue cats from Turkey, find them homes in the UK, Europe and the US, and to provide them with a safe and loving environment. We are dedicated to finding the perfect home for each cat and take each adoption seriously.

Important Information

When you adopt one of our cats, you can be sure they have received worming & flea treatments, vaccinations, microchip and neutering as part of the adoption fee.

Please note that there's a £250 adoption fee for all of our cats. We're a small rescue and we rely on donations to bring our rescue cats to the UK. It's a costly process so we appreciate your contribution towards their rescue to give them the lives they deserve.

We are committed to ensuring every cat finds the most suitable and loving forever home. We also provide travel services for cats to their new homes; however, the process can take up to 4 months.

3.Interview & Home Check

Successful applicants will be invited for an online interview. This may include a home visit to ensure the environment is safe and appropriate for the cat's needs.

4.Reservation & Adoption Fee

Once approved, a deposit is required to secure your chosen cat. This amount will be deducted from the total adoption fee. The remaining balance, along with a signed adoption agreement, must be completed before final arrangements for travel can be made.

5.Preparing for Arrival

To support a smooth transition, we recommend adopters take one to two weeks off work to allow their new companion time to settle.

6.Ongoing Support

Our responsibility does not end with adoption. We provide rescue back-up and will remain available for advice and support throughout your cat's life.
